22 Weeks
Heard the baby's heartbeat today. I can't describe what I'm feeling at the time, only that the heart sounds strong and healthy. It's truly amazing. Just four more months till the baby is born. That is just around the corner, we will have a new addition to our family. We are all excited for that day to come. God has really blessed us. Time is really going fast. My wife just shared with me how much Alicia has grown. It seems like only yesterday that Alicia attended preschool and she wondered what happened to all the years that passed.
Life is so precious. What ever the circumstances each of us go through, we all need to make the best of it because you are only dealt with one hand, and that's it. Once you call it quits, there is no 'do over'. Each day we need to live our lives as if it will be our last. Not everyone feels that way because sometimes we feel invulnerable from everything, bad circumstances, and that we go about life carefree. As we all know, that is not the case. People get sick, people lose everything, their family, loved ones, friends. And the worst part is, many people dictate their destiny from their circumstances. It is the worst deception anyone can go through.
Take each day and cherish the moment. Even the bad ones. It's easy to cherish the good times, but when you come across bad circumstances, look at it as what is this I'm trying to learn from. Why did I get myself in this mess, and how can I get out of it? When you tackle bad circumstances like that, it's no longer 'bad' circumstances. It just circumstances.
The past is the past. What ever mistakes you made is done. You can't do anything about it. The future is still unknown. What really matters is the now. What are you going to do right now at this moment? I look at the "now" as a gift. That is why the call it the 'present."
My baby is coming in four months. And each day of my life I'm with my wife and Alicia, I'm going to make sure that I live to take care and serve my family now. That is the best gift God's ever given me. And I believe something big will happen that will take our family to the 'overflow' and it's just around the corner.

His Name is Momo.
Since the summer of 2010 we adopted Momo into our family and he has been a blessing to this family. Momo is a three year old mix terrier Maltese and a Shih Tzu. He has a personality that you would forget that he is a dog, but that of a curious child that loves to be close and held with affection. I've had pets in the past, but none like Momo. He is truly something. Since my wife got pregnant, Momo displays strange behavior. He's gone closer with my wife, follows her like a shadow, sleeps close by than to be in his own bed, and even waits outside the bathroom door when Rusty is in there. It also seems like Momo is protecting my wife. Even to the point from Alicia and I?!? Momo would either growl when we pass by or even try to bite us if we get too close to my wife. I Google'd "dogs and pregnant women" and found topics regarding what we have been experiencing. Strange indeed, Overall, he's a loving member of our family and we love Momo so much.

Marked By Memories
Beginning of this year, I started this blog not knowing what I would do with it. Even before the new year rang in, I had this site under construction for months. I had an idea, but I didn't know how to visualize it nor did I know how to deploy it.
Let's begin with introductions. My name is Bernard. I'm 37 years old and I live in San Francisco. I'm married to a wonderful wife named, Rustica. I have a twelve year old step-daughter, Alicia, whom I think is the greatest. We have a daughter on the way whose just four months away from being born. We also have a dog, a mixed terrier, named Momo.
There is nothing out of the ordinary about my family. We're just like any other typical family, that goes to work to make ends meet, dropping off the kids to school, run errands, attend church, and walking the dog (if you are one of the fortunate ones to own a dog).
Each family is different. Each is unique. Each have a story. And I would like to share our story. Why? Well, it's totally an opposite of my personality. I'm usually a "keep-to-myself" type person. But what makes me want to live my life out loud to strangers to who knows who on the Internet is the fact that there is something that I've experienced that shouldn't be kept to just myself. I have friends and extended family all over the world whom I haven't kept in touch for years. It's a good way to journal our lives for our loved ones to see what we've been up to. Also, I believe this could be an inspiration to others who would come across this blog. Some would agree, some would not agree for this kind of posting, but I know it's not for everyone. Life is too short. The best life one can have is the one you've got because it's the only one. This is a life journey marked by memories.

Sunday afternoon
Verse for this week:
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. -John 14:1
*Thank you Lord for your provisions and for your unmeasurable love for me and my family.

Alicia’s First Day Swim Classes
Last Monday, marked the first day back to swimming classes held at Orange Park Swimming Pool in South San Francisco. I know Alicia was really looking forward in getting her feet wet once again. As you can see on the following videos, Alicia hasn’t lost her stroke. Click the links:
