New Season

In a couple of weeks we will be expecting a new member of the family.  Anytime from now a baby girl will be born.  Eleven days ago we've entered, not just a new year, but a new decade.  Eleven days ago our family entered a new season.  We believe in our hearts that not only is 2011 a new beginning, but an end of a ten year cycle.  Year after year we make new year's resolutions, which the majority of the time we break them before January ends.  I myself is guilty of it.  What would make this year any different from the years past?  A whole lot.  Instead of making a choice on what you will do differently this year, you need to put a "must" in your mouth.  When I woke up on the morning of January 1, 2011, I didn't wake up to make a choice to eat healthier, or make a choice that I will exercise more this year.  Instead, I put a "must" in my mouth.  I must eat healthier.  I must exercise more this year.  Most importantly I said, "I must live my life according to God's will for my life."  There is a big difference between choice and must.  By definition, choice is an act or instance of choosing; selection; option.  And must by definition means to be inevitably certain to; to be obliged or bound to by an imperative requirement.  You see, when I make a choice it will either be a good choice or a bad choice.  For certain I could always make the option to choose otherwise.  But to say, "I must..", I'm declaring in my mouth that it will be so.  It's not a choice but it's imperative.  Every animal must eat to live.

My family and I have entered this new season of our lives.  First by agreeing on the direction.  (Amos 3:3 NLT).  Second, believe that God is in control in all things.  The struggles of finances and relationships when things looked bleak, believing God was working in those dark times.  (John 11:40 NASB)  And third, live accordingly to the will of God for our lives.  (Matthew 6:33 NASB)

This is our New Season.  My family and I are walking into it.  Our first blessing is our new daughter coming into the family.  She is the beginning of things to come.  And we are expectantly awaiting the many blessings to come that is around the corner.  All praises, all glory, and honor be to God.
